I have worked for a few different MSPs starting in 2002. I had other roles internally in an organization as well, up to IT Director. I have partnered with, or hired more Managed Service Providers during those roles. All in all, I have seen the behind-the-scenes of a bunch of MSPs. I have seen the good and the bad. I have always craved working for and around people that share my faith. I have encountered some, as well as some empty promises through the years.
After being blindsided by a layoff in early 2025, and after equally tons of meaningful, edited applications and tons of lifted prayers, I threw out the idea to my wife “What if I start my own?” Her answer took me back, and let me know she was in my corner. “Be the employer you always wanted to have.” Accelerate Upward was born.
Fast forward a few months. A routine doctor visit became “We think its fine.” This turned into progressive steps; scans, pokes, tests. Our family was diagnosed with an advanced cancer diagnosis. Major surgery. The blessings God provided for us through this time were immeasurable. We’re ok now. The doctor believes that its manageable over many decades. We are years away from next steps.
The blessings that were poured out on us are an inspiration of why Accelerate Upward wants to be the Hands and Feet of Jesus. We want to give back, and come alongside people that are hurting.
We have a particular compassion for families going through a cancer diagnosis. We found that the cancer does not belong to the person, but the whole family becomes diagnosed.
